About Book

Vertebrates are animals with a backbone, also known as a spinal column. Vertebrates are named for their vertebra, segmented sections of the spinal column. These segmented sections give the spinal column some flexibility while maintaining its strength. The vertebras are surrounded by nerve fibers that deliver commands, via electrical signals, from the brain to all the limbs. All vertebrates are built along the basic chordate body plan: a stiff rod running through the length of the animal with a hollow tube of nervous tissue above it and the gastrointestinal tract below. Vertebrates represent the overwhelming majority of the phylum chordata, with currently about 69,963 species described. The vertebrates are also characterized by a muscular system consisting primarily of bilaterally paired masses and a central nervous system partly enclosed within the backbone. This aim of this book is to give details about advanced research on vertebrates. It elucidates the concepts and innovative models around prospective development with respect to vertebrates. It deals with various topics such as wildlife vertebrates, spinal muscular atrophy, vertebrate host specificity, spermatozoa of vertebrates, experimental ischemia, sex determination in vertebrates and circadian clocks in vertebrates. While understanding the long-term perspectives of the topics, the book makes an effort in highlighting their impact as a modern tool for the growth of the discipline. Selected concepts that redefine the field have been presented in this book. The book is appropriate for those seeking detailed information in this area.
