About Book

Bioelectrochemistry is a diverse field, with impact on many areas in chemistry, from energy storage to understanding biological processes at a fundamental level. The topic is an incredible fast-growing field situated at the interface among electrochemistry, biochemistry, analytical and medicinal chemistry, environmental and food science. Recently, significant progress in understanding, development and application of bioelectrochemistry has been reached, thus inducing an always more rapid growth in the field. The bioelectrochemical reactions and system have direct impact in biotechnological development, in medical devices designing, in the behaviour of DNA-protein complexes, in green-energy and bioenergy concepts, and make it possible an understanding of metabolism of all living organisms where biomolecules are integral to health and proper functioning. This book attempts to understand the multiple branches that fall under the discipline of bioelectrochemistry and how such concepts have practical applications. It provides detailed information about electrochemical energy, electrochemical detoxification, bioelectrochemical fixation, electrochemical methods, electrochemistry, sorption properties, photoelectrochemistry, bioelectrochemical systems and triboelectro-chemistry. Such selected concepts that redefine this subject area have been presented in the book. While understanding the long-term perspectives of the topics, the book makes an effort in highlighting their impact as a modern tool for the growth of the discipline. This book will give detailed information about both of the above-mentioned topics along with other ones. The book aims to serve as a resource guide for researchers and contribute to the growth of the discipline.
